Michael Savage, An Alliance of Civilizations Trial Run?

From its earliest stages, the Alliance of Civilizations initiative found itself an ally named Britain. Tony Blair, reportedly a new ager, gifted the Alliance with Britain’s approval before the initiative had even launched. The spontaneous cartoon crisis yielded further British endorsement when Charles, Prince of Wales, called for the “at-one-ment” of all the world’s faiths through adoption the Alliance of Civilizations and Interfaith Reconciliation. “At-one-ment” is a new age doctrine said to join together individuals attuned to a collective global consciousness whereby religious and political ideologies which cause separation are to be set aside in favor of a common value system. This common set of values is to become the foundation upon which the new civilization is built. The Alliance of Civilizations is one such interfaith initiative responsible for defining that common value system. The difference between the Alliance and other interfaith efforts is that the Alliance has been incorporated into military strategy thus giving it lion’s teeth. The Alliance has set forth to establish a global conscience which UN signatory nations are to adopt in implementation of the Global Counter-Terrorism Strategy. The Alliance has focused a great deal of effort attempting to unifying Islam with the West by heaping heavy scorn upon the West while praising Muslim nations for their contributions to modern civilization.

UK Parliamentary records further exhibit Britain’s participation in the Alliance of Civilizations and calls for other nations to follow their example. British Minister for International Development Shahid Malikis is Britain’s representative for the Alliance of Civilizations. According to Malikis, the UK favors tackling radicalization and that “true Islam is a key part of the solution to extremism in the name of Islam”. Malikis statement reminds me of the Alice Bailey doctrine on the partial sealing of the door where evil dwells which says:

  • “…Palestine should no longer be called the Holy Land; its sacred places are only the passing relics of three dead and gone religions. The spirit has gone out of the old faiths and the true spiritual light is transferring itself into a new form which will manifest on earth eventually as the new world religion. To this form all that is true and right and good in the old forms will contribute, for the forces of right will withdraw that good, and incorporate it in the new form. Judaism is old, obsolete and separative and has no true message for the spiritually-minded which cannot be better given by the newer faiths; the Moslem faith has served its purpose and all true Moslems await the coming of the Imam Mahdi who will lead them to light and to spiritual victory; the Christian faith also has served its purpose; its Founder seeks to bring a new Gospel and a new message that will enlighten all men everywhere…”

Bailey’s “true Moslems”, I believe, are those practicing Islamic mysticism, the Sufis. Today, Sufism is being portrayed to the westerners as the peaceful moderates of Islam who are valuable allies in the war against extremism which dismisses the Al-Qaeda ties to Sufism. (Additional criticisms of Sufism may be found here, here, and here.)

This would leave one to wonder why some of the British leadership would turn to “the most ferocious soldiers of Islam” and embrace a set of “common values” which are being defined by individuals who are hostile towards the West. One British MP of specific interests is counter-terrorism Home Secretary Jacqui Smith who praised the Sufis for providing a template of values in which we can live.

Smith made recent headlines when she included U.S. talk radio host Michael Savage among terrorists who are not permitted to enter Britain. Here are links to the official exclusion list along with the Smith’s announcement to Parliament.

Michael Savage is known for his conservative views and his opposition to global governance, communist ideology, illegal immigration, homosexual behavior, etc. Savage is a defender of national sovereignty. Overall, Michael Savage does not appear to share the Alliance of Civilizations values system and world view. Savage’s ideology is one which the Alliance considers exclusionary; intolerant; and violently radicalizing.

As I read Smith’s statements why she banned Michael Savage from Britain, I couldn’t help but notice the identities in her language and the corresponding Alliance of Civilizations’
Terms of Reference. According to Alliance, “to guide this initiative, the Secretary-General, in consultation with the co-sponsors, has established a High-level Group of eminent persons with the following objectives:

  • To provide an assessment of new and emerging threats to international peace and security in particular the political, social and religious forces that foment extremism;
  • To identify collective actions, at both the institutional and civil society levels, to address these trends;
  • To recommend a practicable programme of action for States, international organizations and civil society aimed at promoting harmony among societies.”

“Toward this end, the High-level Group will consider practical strategies:
  • To strengthen mutual understanding, respect and shared values among different peoples, cultures and civilizations;
  • To counter the influence of groups fomenting extremism and the exclusion of others who do not share their worldviews;
  • To counter the threat to world peace and stability posed by extremism;
  • To foster awareness in all societies that security is indivisible and is a vital need for all, and that global cooperation is an indispensable prerequisite for security, stability and development.

As I read Smith’s rationale for naming Savage amongst terrorists, I began to suspect she had applied Alliance of Civilizations’ guidelines which guided her to the conclusion he is a terrorist. According to Smith:

  • "I think it's important that people understand the sorts of values and sorts of standards that we have here the fact that it's a privilege to come and the sort of things that mean you won't be welcome in this country,"
  • "Coming to this country is a privilege. If you can't live by the rules that we live by, the standards and values that we live by, we should exclude you from this country and, what's more, now we will make public those people that we have excluded.
  • "This is someone who has fallen into the category of fomenting hatred, of such extreme views and expressing them in such a way that it is actually likely to cause inter-community tension or even violence if that person were allowed into the country”
  • "If people have so clearly overstepped the mark in terms of the way not just that they are talking but the sort of attitudes that they are expressing to the extent that we think that this is likely to cause or have the potential to cause violence or inter-community tension in this country, then actually I think the right thing is not to let them into the country in the first place. Not to open the stable door then try to close it later," Ms Smith said.

What about individuals presently living in Britain who violate these shared values? It may be worth taking a second look at Gordon Brown’s advisor who recently called for the UK population be reduced by one half.

Noteworthy is that dissenting voice in Britain named Melanie Phillips has also noticed the Alliance of Civilizations influence over British politics. Phillips writes “much of the problem is that the government’s advisers and civil servants have had their heads filled with the revisionist and ahistorical rubbish about Islam produced by authors such as Karen Armstrong or John Esposito.” Incidentally, Malaysia banned Karen Armstrong and John Esposito’s books citing reasons that they disrupted peace and harmony.

Michael Savage has raised an excellent question: how did his name reach the Home Secretary Jacqui Smith’s desk? For now, I can only speculate. Yet as I look at people and organizations I believe may share an interest in seeing Michael Savage disappear from the air waves, one common connection keeps coming up. That is the Alliance of Civilizations.

United States Department of Homeland Security
Michael Savage has named Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano in a lawsuit charging her with violation of Americans’ civil rights by subjecting them to unfavorable treatment based upon their political ideologies. Under the Bush Administration the United States privately supported the Alliance of Civilizations yet sent no high-level representation to AoC forums. President Obama’s has changed the tone by personally attending a dinner where he was expected to speak at the Second Alliance of Civilizations Forum. The Alliance of Civilizations’ doctrines are already noticeable in U.S. counter-terrorism materials.

Council of American-Islamic Relations
The Council for American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) is an organization which has pursued interfaith dialogue as a means to resolve the clash among civilizations. Some of CAIR’s speakers favor Sufism and present it as the more peaceful aspect of Islam. Citations from CAIR’s material can be found in Alliance of Civilizations’ reports. The CAIR-Alliance relationship is most noticeable in its associations with
Shaykh Hamza Yusuf and Alliance High Level Group members Mohammad Khatami and John Esposito. CAIR is a signatory of a Common Word which interconnects with Religions for Peace and the Alliance of Civilizations initiatives.

CAIR is an organization having a contentious relationship with Michael Savage. Despite CAIR’s claims that it does not support Britain’s ban of Michael Savage, it is behind Hate Hurts America, an interfaith dialogue organization calling upon companies to withdraw advertisements from Savage broadcasts for his criticisms of Islam. The FBI has recently severed ties with CAIR for its involvement with a Hamas a terrorist organization.

Bill Moyers
Michael Savage posted on his web site an
article by the American Thinker which questions whether Bill Moyers “helped to set the stage for the latest UK-based demonization of Savage” by portraying him an extremist who promotes violent radicalization. Bill Moyers is an advocate of interfaith dialogue. Among his advisors is Karen Armstrong, High Level Group member of the Alliance of Civilizations.

In the upcoming days, we will hopefully learn of Jacqui Smith’s decision-making process to include Savage on Britain’s terrorist list. Regardless of how it happened, we are witnessing a fore shadow of what we might expect from the Alliance of Civilizations’ global conscience, global counter-terrorism efforts. Michael Savage is among the first to find himself within the Alliance of Civilizations’ domain which it has claimed for itself. Savage is a major media personality standing at the intersection of politics and religion.

May the Lord help Michael Savage. May the Lord help us all.

Thanks a million for sounding the alarm on CAIR, Common Word, etc.. I've been pointing this out for some time.

The Jordanian Royal family, who is involved in both AoC and Common Word, is not so tolerant in their own country. If the truth ever came out publicly about their hypocrisy it would make a mockery of AoC, Common Word, etc..

Unfortunately, it would also endanger the lives of believers who live in the country..

Thank You Rich, another very insightful perspective!
I know you are aware of Search For Common Ground and their not too subtle link with the AOC. A direct example would be Shamil Idriss Acting Director of the Secretariat for the AOC who is also on the Washington DC Office Board of Directors for SFCG. Another is
AOC-HLG member Mustapha Tlili who is also one of the Leadership Group members for the "U.S.-Muslim Engagement Project".
Have you seen the September 2008 released Initiative of Search for Common Ground and the Concensus Building Institute "U.S.-Muslim Engagement Project report:'Changing Course: A New Direction for U.S. Relations with the Muslim World'?

"The bipartisan Leadership Group convened by the U.S.-Muslim Engagement Project has crafted a multi-faceted strategy to enhance U.S. and international security and improve U.S.-Muslim relations. The Project will disseminate this new broad-based strategy, in order to shift American public opinion, impact government policies, and stimulate effective public and private action."

The latest news, media coverage, and more information including pdf of report can be read:

Note the short video at the above link where April 7, 2009, former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright, member of the Leadership Group on U.S.-Muslim Engagement, gives a "thumbs up" to Barack Obama.

The report itself is "locked" so copying and pasting pertinent information isn't possible. I haven't had time to read the entire 175 page report but beginning on page 27 under
"A Call For Action" is what I determine to be very disturbing information. The Leadership Group has given President Obama a list of "recommendations".
I believe this is so significant, I
have taken the liberty of typing some of it here. Compare these "recommendations" to what we have witnessed during Obama's first hundred days in office and tell me from whom the President of the United States of America is taking his marching orders?

"The Next U.S. President and Administration MUST provide immediate and sustained leadership to improve U,S, Muslim relations. We recommend that the next President take these steps:

. Speak to the critical importance of improving relations with the global Muslim community in his 2009 inaugural address
. Take key actions immediately to demonstrate a commitment to improving relations, including:
.Immediately re-affirming the U.S. commitment to prohibit all forms of torture
. Within the first six months of the Administration, initiate a major and sustained diplomatic effort to resolve regional conflicts and promote security cooperation in the Middle East, giving top priority to engagement with Iran and permanent resolution of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
.Within the first six months of the Administration. co-convene a business-government summit on economic reform, growth, and job creation in the Middle East to accerate current reform and investment initiatives
. Work with leaders in Congress, educational, culteral and philanthropic institutions in the U.S.. And counterparts in Muslim countries, to create and fund a global initiative for teaching, learning, and exchange among citizens in the U.S. and Muslim countries

It will also be important for a wide range of private actors to coordinate their activities more closely, while maintaining their separation from government. To do so, we recommend that the new Administration and leading business, educational, philanthropic, faith, and media organizations co-convene forums on U.S. Muslim relations, and create new platforms for action, making special efforts to involve Muslim-American leaders."

"President Obama echoed the Report when he called for a “new way forward with the Muslim world, based on mutual interest and mutual respect” in his inaugural address, and subsequent interview on al-Arabiya news channel. His initial actions to appoint high level envoys to promote diplomacy, to begin engagement with Iran, and to order the closing of the Guantanomo Bay facility and reaffirm U.S. opposition to torture are all consistent with the Report."

Bill Cunningham has taken on the task of supporting Michael Savage, asking other radio hosts to do the same.

It is impossible to reach Michael Savage directly, so if enough of us forward Rich's column to Cunningham, he might read the information and use it on his show as well as get it to Michael Savage. Here is Cunningham's contact information:

FYI old article - George Trevelyan close link to Pierre Vilayat Inayat Khan, the leader of the Sufi movement in UK.

"What was George teaching? What do we mean by a spiritual world view? He was advocating spiritual awakening, not a religious revival, an awakening that is available to those of all religions and those of none. Although the work of Rudolf Steiner was what led George into an interest in the spiritual he searched for the truth far and wide, in the work of Shakespeare, Goethe, Blake, Hopkins, the romantic poets etc., and also in the works of more modern thinkers including Teilhard de Chardin, Wellesley Tudor Pole, Grace Cook and the White Eagle teachings etc. And from his close link with Pierre Vilayat Inayat Khan, the leader of the Sufi movement in this country, he saw that the fruits of Eastern as well as Western thinking had to be considered and represented. He knew there were many routes up the mountain and no one route was right for everybody. However he never doubted that, to quote his own words "It is Cosmic Christianity we are about"."

When there is freedom of speech, the right to share information, in a society, there are also many problems. Though this freedom may not make life easier, it is still necessary.

From the point of view of those who would control others, dissenting views and individuals are major distractions from the goals the controllers want to reach. This is why the Bailey writings condemn separation between people, organization, governments, etc., considering it an evil. That kind of control is what the AOC wants. We see it in the effort to control conservative radio shows and the hate speech laws.

The main problems for those who would share or receive information come about because the quality and quantity of the information can't always be trusted. Not all individuals are equally honest and not all information is equally valid.

Like all freedoms, freedom of information is not just a gift for passive takers. There are just too many traps for the passive.

There is information overload, those swamping others with so much information at one time there is no opportunity to evaluate it, a favorite cult technique.

People can be told there is freedom of information where none exists. Huge amounts of detail make finding essential information impossible.

There are individuals who make insinuations sound like facts, using the freedom as a cover.

There are weak individuals who spout conclusions without doing any work to find the truth, who push others to succumb to peer pressured information.

I know this isn't a well thought out analysis of evaluating information, but it should tell readers to keep their guard up and only trust people with proven records like Constance Cumbey, Dennis Cuddy, Lee Penn or Rich whose blog this is and work to check out other presented "facts."

Here's an example of how some can be led astray.

While checking out NewsNow: The UK's #1 News Portal, I came across a story about a novel which appears to be quick read but which has heavy coverage on the intnet.

"WARNING! Controversial New Book: Illuminati 2012 Takes Internet By Storm!
Illuminati 2012: The Book They Don't Want You To Read"

Those who would search for more information and who would put "Illuminati 2012" into a youtube search would find themselves in the middle of New Age antisemitic rationalizations even though the themes would appear to be the same.

As I wrote earlier, freedom of information can be used for good or evil. Not every source that sounds interesting is to be trusted.

There are a number of books that give the history of the political end of the New Age movement, but not everyone knows what they are. One of these is The Globalist by Dennis Cuddy which was preceded by his book Secret Records Revealed. The latter is available at a low price, but there are only two copies of the former available through the internet, one at about $28 and the other at $58.

The Globalist (318 pages) is packed with page after page of documentation showing the effort to build a New World Order has been in the works for the last 100 years. The connection with the occult is also documented. Bad part is there is no index. Good point is that the documentation is shown year by year.

With permission I'm going to post some information from the book over time. Here's how the book starts:

In the mid-1960s, when Bill Clinton was a student at Georgetown University, his mentor there was Prof. Carroll Quigley, who authored Tragedy and Hope in 1966. Twenty-six years later, then Governor Clinton on July 16, 1992, would become the Democratic party nominee for president and in his acceptance speech he would admiringly refer to Prof. Quigley. (How many presidential nominees in history have singled out an individual college professor for praise in their acceptance speeches?) Bill Clinton in November 1992 would be elected president of the United States, and James K. Fitzpatrick would write on the editorial page of the national newspaper, The Wanderer, November 18, 1993:

(Beginning of quote) Clinton told reporters in an interview that Quigley's work centered on the existence of a permanent shadow government of powerful bankers and businessmen and government officials that controls the agenda of our political life from behind the scenes. Clinton spoke in that interview of coming to the conclusion, while still a young man, that it was necessary for him to gain access to the inner circle of this group in order to become part of the decision making process that shapes our world. (end of quote)

This "inner circle" is perhaps connected historically to the 'Circle of Initiates' who were part of Cecil Rhodes plan for world domination.....

1891 February 5: Rhodes secret society, "The Society of the Elect: is formally established..Rhodes is the 'General' with Stead, Milner and Reginald Baliol Brett (Lord Esher) forming the executive committee. ...Stead from 1893 to 1897 will edit Borderland, a periodical concerning psychical matters. He was a friend of well-known occultist Annie Besant who he asked to review Madame Helena Petrovna Blavatsky's The Secret Doctrine for the Pall Mall Gazette. (end of excerpt)

From the very beginning occultists were friends with those in power.

Another example of a crackdown on free speech. or

Judith Miller
No Justice
A UN war-crimes tribunal targets free speech.

"...The tribunal’s indictment of Hartmann, however, has stirred outrage. “Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine that the tribunal set up to punish war criminals would be prosecuting a journalist who was part of the effort to bring justice to those responsible for terrible crimes,” said Diego Arria, a former Venezuelan ambassador to the UN who helped create the ICTY. In fact, Hartmann’s defenders say, the notion of such a tribunal’s expanding its prosecutorial authority to issues of free speech is breathtaking. “She will be standing on the exact spot where Milošević stood!” said Dominique Dupuy, a French activist who campaigned for the creation of a war-crimes tribunal and is now helping run a website in support of Hartmann. “We all wanted the tribunal, but this has nothing to do with justice. It has to do with keeping the truth from victims and the public.” More than 2,500 people have already signed protest petitions, and several journalists and human rights groups—among them, the London-based Article 19 and the Paris-based European Journalists Association—have urged the tribunal to drop the charges...."

An extremely long article, probably meant for serious researchers. The seriousness of the global financial problem led to disagreements as to how things should be handled. While in the past many felt that they would be able to straighten things out in order to protect their own assets, this may no longer be the case.

We also better watch to see what this global department of health is going to push.

The Bilderberg Plan for 2009: Remaking the Global Political Economy

Shortly after the meetings began, Bilderberg tracker Jim Tucker reported that his inside sources revealed that the group has on its agenda, “the plan for a global department of health, a global treasury and a shortened depression rather than a longer economic downturn.” Tucker reported that Swedish Foreign Minister and former Prime Minister, Carl Bildt, “Made a speech advocating turning the World Health Organization into a world department of health, advocating turning the IMF into a world department of treasury, both of course under the auspices of the United Nations.” ...

After the meetings finished, Daniel Estulin reported that, “One of Bilderberg’s primary concerns according to Estulin is the danger that their zeal to reshape the world by engineering chaos in order to implement their long term agenda could cause the situation to spiral out of control and eventually lead to a scenario where Bilderberg and the global elite in general are overwhelmed by events and end up losing their control over the planet.”[3] "

Len, who posts over at the Cumbey blogspot sent this item out. The role of the US regarding Israel has changed, but one item stood out for me.

Israel and the Axis of Evil

"...US Lt. General Keith Dayton, who is responsible for training Palestinian military forces in Jordan stated outright that if Israel does not surrender Judea and Samaria within two years, the Palestinian forces he and his fellow American officers are now training at a cost of more than $300 million will begin killing Israelis.

"Even more unsettling than Dayton's certainty that within a short period of time these US-trained forces will commence murdering Israelis, is his seeming equanimity in the face of the known consequences of his actions. The prospect of US-trained Palestinian military forces slaughtering Jews does not cause Dayton have a second thought about the wisdom of the US's commitment to building and training a Palestinian army. ..."

Add this to 2012 predictions. I had trouble reading the links and was sent the entire thing.

"Just as the Sun's solar activity affects the Earth's magnetic field which has a dramatic affect on Earth's "weather" i.e. earthquakes, floods, volcanoes, hurricanes; so does this wave of electrical currents affect the human body's magnetic field. Mitch also reveals a little-known development from modern medicine known as Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS). TMS provides empirical evidence of how magnetic fields can influence human emotions.

Solar Cycle 24 has begun - and it has been predicted by NASA, NOAA and ESA to be up to 50% stronger than its 'record breaking' predecessor Cycle 23 which produced the largest solar flare ever recorded. The Sun will reach its 'apex' (maximum) in late 2011 into 2012.

"I believe it will be the magnetic influence produced by the Sun which will usher in what is described by our ancient ancestors as "the transition" bringing us to a new state-of-being". (Mitch Battros)

An international panel of experts led by NOAA and sponsored by NASA has released a new prediction for the next solar cycle. The panel suggests Solar Cycle 24's "apex" (maximum) may extend to 2013 with a below-average number of sunspots.

"If our prediction is correct, Solar Cycle 24 will have a peak sunspot number of 90, the lowest of any cycle since 1928 when Solar Cycle 16 peaked at 78," says panel chairman Doug Biesecker of the NOAA Space Weather Prediction Center.

It is the statement that follows which tells-the-tale of Battros Sept. 4th prediction. "It is tempting to describe such a cycle as "weak" or "mild," but that could give the wrong impression." (NASA). Yes, I would say we are seeing the "calm before the storm". Watch for an increase of activity beginning late this year into 2010. But it will be 2011 which will take many by surprise.

Scientific studies have found that if a similar storm occurred today, it could cause $1 to 2 trillion in damages to society's high-tech infrastructure and require four to ten years for complete recovery. For comparison, Hurricane Katrina caused "only" $80 to 125 billion in damage.

The 1859 storm known as the "Carrington Event" named after astronomer Richard Carrington who witnessed the instigating solar flare--electrified transmission cables, set fires in telegraph offices, and produced Northern Lights so bright that people could read newspapers by their red and green glow.

According to the forecast, the Sun should remain generally calm for at least another year. From a research point of view, that's good news because solar minimum has proven to be more interesting than anyone imagined. Low solar activity has a profound effect on Earth's atmosphere, allowing it to cool and contract.

Anyone with scientific knowledge want to evaluate this possibility?
Anyway, this part of the page is readable and interesting.

Some more history from Dennis Cuddy's book, The Globalist. The year is from the time period when the New Age people made their first move for political control.

President Roosevelt approves the placement of the pyramid in the Great Seal of the United States on or dollar bill. According to CFR member Arthur Schlesinger, Jr.'s The Coming of the New Deal (1958) regarding Henry Wallace, he will state: "Though he (Wallace) remained noncommital about the extend of his own belief (in the power of the occult), Wallace did induce the secretary of the treasury (Henry Morgenthau, Jr.,) to put the Great Pyramid on the new dollar bill in 1935.

In a recent biography concerning Madame Helena Petrovna Blavatsky (probably the leading occultist of the last half of the nineteenth century), it was stated that Nicholas Roerich suggested to Henry Wallace that the all-seeeing eye (of Horus) at the top of the Great Pyramid be used on the dollar bill. When Wallace wrote to Roerrich, he was known to address him as "My dear Guru." and in Schlesinger's The Coming of the New Deal, he will write concerning Wallace:
"the occult fascinated him...had drawn him in the late twenties into the orbit of a White Russian mystic in the tradition of Blavatsky named Nicholas Roerich...billing himself (Roerich) as the exclusive representative of the White Brotherhood of the East...Wallace probably found release (or refuge)in Roerich's theosophical potpourri...On one occation Wallace even wrote Roosevelt: 'I feel for a short time yet, that we must deal with...the 'flamelessons' who with one last dying gasp will strive to re-animate their dying giant 'Capitalism; Mr. President you can be the 'flaming one'...

President Roosevelt will make Wallace his vice-president from 1941 to 1945. In 1990, Raisa Gorbachev will begin the Roerich Fund. And in 1991, the Moscow press will proclaim the "International Year of Blavatsky." Adolph Hitler had learned of the meaning of the swastika from the writings of Blavatsky and had a copy of her book The Secret Doctrine by his bed. That book was published in 1888, the year after she started the theosophical magazine, Lucifer, The Light Bringer. (pages 60-61)

Dennis Cuddy's The Globalist, page 63

Robert J. Havighurst becomes director of the Rockefeller Foundation's General Education Board until 1941 (he had been assistant director from 1934-1937). In Phi Delta Kappa (September 1976) prominent educator Harold Shane (vice-president of a NEA department, 1939-1943; dean of the School of Education at Indiana University, 1959-1965) will write "Robert J. Havighurst suggested the 'global servant' concept in which we will educate our young for planetary service and eventually, for some form of world citizenship...Implicit within the "global servant' concept are the moral insights that will help us live with the regulated freedom we must eventually learn to impose upon ourselves..." Havighurst will be on the advisory council of Planetary Citizens, founded in 1971 by Norman Cousins, Donald Keys, and UN Secretary-General U Thant. (end of section)

The pieces were put in place slowly. Leadership became comfortable with the concepts.

Did anyone know that the U.S. was planning on moving it's embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.

Late on Friday The Washington Times' Christian Bourge obtained a copy of Presidential Determination 2009-19, latest in a series of pro forma memos to the Secretary of State entitled "Suspension of Limitations Under the Jerusalem Embassy Act." This determination is a legally required waiver under said act to continue to delay the May 31, 1999 deadline for moving the U.S. Embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.

Nearly identical memos like this have been issued every six months for the last decade. Standard procedure, no big deal, right? Well in the Bush years the memo contained the sentence,

"My Administration remains committed to beginning the process of moving our embassy to Jerusalem."

The Obama team has edited that passage out.
